Product Overview
Sempra® Herbicide is a selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide formulated with Halosulfuron Methyl 75% WG. It is specially designed for effective control of the most dreaded weed Cyperus rotundus (Nut Grass / Motha) and related sedges in crops like sugarcane, maize, and vegetables.

Special Features
- Sempra is a post-emergent and highly selective herbicide.
- It is systemic, absorbed by leaves and/or roots and translocated to meristem tissues.
- Absorption occurs through leaf tissues within 24–48 hours.
- Sempra blocks nutrient uptake in Cyperus rotundus within 24 hours of application.
- Reduces weed regermination by killing 3–6 nutlets of Cyperus rotundus.
Mode of Action
- Sempra inhibits Acetolactate Synthase (ALS), the first enzyme in the biosynthesis pathway of branched-chain amino acids (Valine, Leucine & Isoleucine).
- Inhibition of ALS starves the weed of essential amino acids, resulting in weed death.
