Katyayani Acetogen Acetobacter Nitrogen Fixing Biofertilizer
Katyayani Acetogen – Acetobacter Nitrogen Fixing Biofertilizer
Katyayani Acetogen is an Acetobacter-based nitrogen-fixing biofertilizer that helps fix atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into ammonia, naturally providing nitrogen to plants without relying entirely on artificial nitrogen fertilizers.
It is a powerful liquid formulation containing a recommended CFU of 5 × 108 per ml, offering a liquid solution with better shelf life compared with powder forms of Acetobacter. It is recommended for organic farming, gardening, organic plantations, and agricultural applications.
Active Ingredient
Acetobacter spp. with a recommended microbial count of 5 × 108 CFU per ml.
Key Features & Benefits
- Acetobacter-based nitrogen-fixing biofertilizer.
- Fixes atmospheric nitrogen and naturally supplies nitrogen to plants.
- Recommended CFU: 5 × 108 per ml.
- Liquid formulation with better shelf life compared with powder forms.
- Recommended for organic farming and organic cultivation.
- Suitable for sugar-containing crops such as sugarcane, sweet sorghum and sweet corn.

- Helps reduce the requirement for nitrogen-based chemical fertilizers with regular use.
- Promotes root proliferation and increases the number of rootlets.
- Supports better nutrient uptake from the rhizosphere.
- Eco-friendly and cost-effective biofertilizer.
Target Crops
Sugarcane, sweet sorghum, sweet corn and other suitable agricultural crops, as well as home gardens, kitchen gardens, terrace gardens, nurseries and greenhouse crops.
Dosage & Application
| Application Method | Dosage |
|---|---|
| Domestic / Home Garden | 10 ml per litre of water |
| Agriculture – Large Application | 1–2 litres per acre |
| Soil Application | Mix 1–2 litres in 25–50 kg well-rotted FYM, compost, vermicompost, field soil or organic manure and apply per acre |
| Sugarcane Set Treatment | 1 litre per acre in 100 litres of water; dip sugarcane sets for about 15–20 minutes before planting |
| Drip Irrigation | 1 litre in 200 litres of water per acre |
Mode of Action
Acetobacter spp. are obligatory aerobic nitrogen-fixing bacteria capable of fixing nitrogen in the roots, stems and leaves of sugarcane plants. They produce growth-promoting substances such as IAA (Indole Acetic Acid) and GA (Gibberellic Acid), which promote root proliferation and increase the number of rootlets.
This supports the uptake of minerals, phosphate solubilisation and water, helping promote cane growth and sugar recovery. Acetobacter can establish a symbiotic relationship with plants such as sugarcane and coffee by colonizing their internal tissues and supporting plant growth.
