Brucia is a new-generation selective herbicide formulated with Tolpyralate 40% (w/v) SC. It provides broad-spectrum post-emergence weed control in maize while offering good crop safety. It helps control a wide range of annual broadleaf and grass weeds, including tough weeds that compete with maize for nutrients, water, sunlight and space.

Mode of Action

After absorption by susceptible weeds, Tolpyralate inhibits the production of the HPPD (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) enzyme. This interferes with carotenoid pigment production, resulting in chlorophyll degradation when exposed to sunlight and ultimately leading to weed death.

Weed death may take up to approximately two weeks; however, treated weeds stop competing effectively with the growing maize crop.

Method of Application

Apply Brucia as a foliar spray using a suitable flat-fan or cut nozzle. Ensure uniform spray coverage of the target weeds and follow the recommended application timing and conditions specified on the product label.
